Fatal Wreck Closes Highway 63

Jonesboro, Ark.  --A fatal accident shut down a section of the Highway 63 bypass through Jonesboro. Just after 11:40 last night, a Chevy Trailblazer crossed the median, overturned and was struck by an 18 wheeler. The collision occurred just south of the Stadium Caraway road exit.

The driver of the SUV was 26 year old Quyen Nguyen of Blytheville. She was thrown from her vehicle upon impact and died of "massive trauma."

The 18 wheeler ran into the retainer wall jumping it. The driver of the 18 wheeler suffer some minor injuries and was taken the hospital.

Debris from the wreck was scattered all over the north and south bound lanes of Highway 63.   For part of the night, traffic was not allowed to go down the bypass between the Stadium /Caraway road exit, and the Harrisburg road exit.
