WASHINGTON, DC (KAIT) – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) and American Track & Hardware Co. Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of Forever-Glo® Cylinder Nite Lites.
The CSPC says the night lights have an electrical short that can cause the product to overheat causing fire hazards. AmerTrac says it has received nine reports of the lights smoking, melting, and/or charring, but no injuries have been reported so far.
The light is cylindrical in shape with a white bottom and clear top. This recall only includes lights with model number 71107 with manufacturer code SY; this information is printed on the back of the product, and was sold from May 2009 to September 2010 for $5.
