JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Jonesboro Police and Fire crews spent Friday morning dealing with an overturned grain truck on one of its busiest roads.
According to the Jonesboro Police Department, a grain truck overturned and spilled its load at the intersection of Johnson and Stadium around 9:15 Friday morning.
Police say the driver was turning left from Johnson Avenue onto Stadium Blvd. when the grain shifted in the back and tipped the truck. The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident, and no other cars were involved.
When fire and police crews arrived on scene they notice a small fuel and antifreeze leak coming from the tipped cab. Emergency crews say the leak didn't appear to be very large, only a small amount of engine oil and antifreeze had leaked out. The Jonesboro Fire Department contained the leak.
Stadium Boulevard was shut down in all directions for about 30 minutes while crews worked to upright the truck.
A cleanup crew was scheduled to arrive on scene around Noon to start scooping up the spilled grain on the side of the road. Police say none of the spilled grain was causing a traffic hazard.
