A country music star helps the "Helping Hands"

RECTOR, AR (KAIT) - The sounds of Christmas could be heard Friday night at the Rector High School Gymnasium.

The crowd of about 500 was treated to traditional favorites sung by the high school choir.

Country music star, Gary Morris, who is best known for his version of "Wind Beneath my Wings," also performed.

The concert was to benefit the "Helping Hands Charity."

"The foundation really gives those kids not just the opportunity not just to have things they might not have otherwise but to also experience things socially and culturally that there's no way they could ever experience without the benefit of the foundation," Helping Hands Foundation board member, Mark Manchester says.

All of the proceeds from Friday night's concert goes to Helping Hands, which provides anything from an under-privileged child needs, including school lunch money and coats for the winter.
