Vancouver (KAIT) - ASU alum Daylan Walker has resigned with the BC Lions for the 2011 season.
Walker was signed in September to the Lions practice squad, after being cut by the Atlanta Falcons in training camp.
He was a four-year letterman on the ASU football team from 2006-09.
Walker was named All-Sun Belt Conference at the conclusion of his senior season in 2009. He ranked 48th in the SBC in tackles (4.2 tpg) and tied for seventh in passes defended (0.67 per game). He posted multiple tackles in every game, including a season-high eight against Iowa, and recorded four tackles for loss from his cornerback position.
The Milan, TN native ended his stellar career with 152 tackles, six tackles for loss, three interceptions and 16 pass break-ups. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week during the 2008 season that saw him register a career-best 65 tackles. He also recorded a career-high 10 tackles in ASU's game against Tennessee during his sophomore campaign.
He'll be in training camp in Kamloops, British Columbia starting Sunday, June 5th.
