Fayetteville (NWAOnline.com) - The University of Arkansas is reviewing a possible recruiting violation that occurred over the weekend.
The probe stems from a photo taken of 10 recruits on official visits to the school, in which all are wearing jerseys and standing in front of lockers with personalized name plates. NCAA bylaw 188.8.131.52 prohibits schools from creating "game-day situations" for recruits.
"We are aware of the matter," said Kevin Trainor, a UA spokesperson. "Any time there is a matter that raises a question, we'll review it."
The violations would be secondary and should not affect any of the players' eligibility. There are six Arkansas commits in the photo – Brey Cook, Robert Thomas, Austin Beck, Alonzo Highsmith, Rohan Gaines and Tyler Gilbert.
Cook, who is rated a five-star tackle by Scout.com, is expected to enroll at the school at midterm. Gaines and Gilbert each verbally committed over the weekend.
