Jonesboro, Ark. -- Education has been a hot topic in Arkansas since last fall's state Supreme Court ruling that declared the state's system of financing schools unconstitutional. Today and tomorrow at Jonesboro, participants in the Farm Bureau's Officers and Leaders Conference get to explore the subject in some detail. Schools are the main topic of the conference, which will include a panel discussion of the subject, as well as a talk from a state official about how to finance education. Participants in the panel discussion include a newspaper publisher, a power-company executive and the president-elect of the Arkansas Rural Education Association.
