WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT)- Cookies, cakes, and porcelain dolls are what you would have found in Walnut Ridge Saturday morning.
A bake sale and doll auction was held at the Lawrence County Library benefiting the Walnut Ridge Children's shelter.
People made bids on dolls that were donated by Henryette Tyler, as well as purchase baked goods. The shelter has only been around for just about a year and a half, and have already helped over two hundred children.
"We go through a lot of electricity, we have to keep it warm, we have a vehicle, some bills that we have to pay, and we rely on donations." says Judy Turnbull with Walnut Ridge Children's Shelter.
The Walnut Ridge Business District and Professional Women Organization helped out the event. This is the first time the shelter has done this type of fundraiser.
