BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Baxter County police has released more details in a double homicide-suicide shooting that happened on Christmas Eve.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, the Arkansas State Crime Lab's preliminary reports show that Harry Svensson fired 4 shots killing his wife and her son before turning the gun on himself.
The crime lab's report says, Harry Svensson shot his wife Louis once in the head. The report then says Harry Svensson shot her son three times, once in the right arm, once to the right side of his back, and a third time to the top of the head.
Police then say Harry Svensson went to the master bedroom closet to reload, then sat on the bed and took his life with a single gunshot to the head.
Based on the investigation and evidence at the scene, police say Harry Svensson first shot and killed his wife in the master bedroom, and then shot and killed her son in the guest bedroom.
The shootings took place around 9am Friday Christmas Eve. Police say they received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a woman was observed to be lying in a pool of blood on the floor inside a home at 124 Forest Hills Drive.
Baxter County Sheriff's Department and Arkansas State Police responded to the scene and found all three bodies inside the home.
