JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Now that the Christmas holiday is over, most of us are finished with our shopping!
For car dealers this time of year is one of their busiest! This week has been referred to as the "black Friday" for car lots and that could mean a good deal for you!
"We're always looking for those end of year sales," said Bruce Rougeau.
While you may be looking for a bargain, dealerships are trying to move cars off their lot!
"They're always looking for a good deal and it seems at the years end, everyone's a little more motivated to make that deal," said Ken Yarbrough, General Manager of Central Chevrolet.
"It's just the time of year we go looking and hope to find a deal," said Donna Crouch.
While Couch didn't buy on Tuesday, she said she hopes to close a deal on a new vehicle soon!
"Usually they have good deals on 2010's or the year that you're still in but we want an 2011 but we could probably buy an 2011 now and most likely get a good deal now," said Crouch.
The last week of December is what some car dealers gear up for.
"Historically from December 26th through the 31st is probably when we see 60% of our business for the month of December ," said Yarbrough.
Yarbrough said they've already sold more cars in 2010 than they did in 2009. After a couple of rough years in the automobile business, he said they've done better this December than they have in the past two years.
"We can see some positive signs in our business throughout the year not just in new sales but in service and body work," said Yarbrough.
He said it's a positive sign for how our economy is doing.
"I think everything is on an upswing," said Yarbrough.
"Car dealers all across Region eight are seeking sales with financial incentives and rebates to get you into the door before this last week of the year comes to an end.
"I would probably say that if I can get my husband out looking this week we might get a good deal," said Crouch.
