Utah Valley 95, FIU 92

OREM, Utah (AP) - Isiah Williams scored 26 points as Utah Valley

fended off Florida International for a 95-92 victory Tuesday night.

Holton Hunsaker added 25 and Jordan Swarbrick 23 for the

Wolverines (6-7). Geddes Robinson had a double-double with 10

points and 11 rebounds.

Alex Legion led the Panthers (5-7) with 22 points, including six

3-pointers. DeJuan Wright added 18, Phil Gary 17 and Eric Frederick

and Cameron Bell 11 apiece.

Utah Valley shot 53.4 percent (31 of 58) and 45.5 percent (10 of

22) on 3-pointers. FIU was not much worse at 49.2 and 43.3 percent,


Williams' 3-pointer broke a 19-19 tie and gave the Wolverines

the lead for good. The Panthers pulled within 81-78 with 5:15 left

but no closer until Frederick's 3-pointer with 5 seconds left made

it 95-92.

FIU had one last chance when Jeremy Allen stole the ball at

half-court. His shot nearly banked in.

North Texas 83, Oklahoma Panhandle St. 62

DENTON, Texas (AP) - Tristan Thompson scored 21 points and

George Odufuwa added 14 points and 10 rebounds as North Texas

defeated Oklahoma Panhandle State 83-62 Tuesday night.

Josh White and Dominique Johnson each had 10 points for the Mean

Green (11-2), who tied the 1952-53 team for the best nonconference

record in the program's 93-year history. North Texas opens Sun Belt

play Thursday against Arkansas-Little Rock.

Marcale Marshall scored 18 points to lead the Aggies (2-10), a

Division II team which lost its sixth straight.

The Mean Green shot 50 percent in winning their 13th straight at

home. Thompson reached 20 points for the sixth time this season,

and Odufuwa recorded his 23rd career double-double.

North Texas led by 18 in the first half and took a 41-28

advantage into halftime.
