Man arrested for not registering as a sex offender in Baxter County

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT)- On Thursday a man living in Baxter County was arrested after failing to register as a sex offender with the sheriff's office.

Baxter County Sheriff's Office says an investigation revealed that Christopher Quaile, 29, did not register with their office as a sex offender after moving from New York to Baxter County.

Baxter County officials said they contacted Quaile by phone and told him to report.  Quaile later turned himself into the Baxter County Sheriff's Office and fulfilled his registration requirements.

Quaile, an over the road truck driver, was convicted in 1999 of sexual abuse involving a 12 year-old girl.

He was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center.  Quaile's bond is set at $15,000 and he is set to appear in court on January 6th.
