Police investigate possible stabbing, man arrested in connection

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) – A Caruthersville man is arrested for allegedly stabbing a man during an argument on Jan. 3.

Caruthersville Police say they were called to 710 East 7th St. where they found 36-year-old Michael Craig of Steele, MO standing in the front yard with a large cut on his left arm. He was taken to the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital for treatment.

According to officers, a witness and the suspect said a physical fight erupted between Craig and 53-year-old Calvin Morgan. During the fight, Morgan allegedly cut Craig with a pocket knife. After finding the weapon, officers say Morgan was arrested for first degree assault and armed criminal action.

Morgan was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail and later released after posting a $35,000 bond.
