JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Craighead County Sheriff Jack McCann says they have arrested Ronnie Laster, 39 of Craighead County Saturday for the December 2010 murder of an elderly woman just north of Jonesboro.

Helen Johnson, 83, of County Road 333 was found dead in her home on December 29.  Sheriff's deputies say she died from multiple stab wounds.

Sheriff McCann told Region 8 News Saturday that Laster confessed to the crime during an interview earlier in the day.

Laster rented a home from Johnson two doors away from hers.  A probable cause hearing is set for Monday.
