MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) -  The Baxter County Sheriff's Office says it's solved nine burglaries and break-ins with a single arrest.

Wednesday morning sheriff's deputies arrested 42-year-old John Douglas Laws at a home in the Mallard Point area, east of Mountain Home.

According to the report, investigators had been following several leads in a rash of recent residential burglaries over the past few weeks.  Tire track impressions had been taken at one of the locations.  Investigators say they matched tires found on a vehicle belonging to Laws.  Investigators then obtained a warrant to search Laws' home.

Sheriff John Montgomery says deputies found several stolen items in Laws' vehicle, including two firearms stolen from a burglary in Marion County.  When investigators searched the property, according to the report, they found numerous other stolen items including several firearms (shotguns, rifles and handguns), big screen television sets, stereos, DVD players, diving equipment, furniture, tools, laptop computers, musical instruments, two ATVs and a flat bed trailer.  Additional items were recovered from pawn shops in Highland and Jonesboro.  The items recovered totaled approximately $43,000.

Laws is charged with nine counts of residential burglary, three counts of breaking or entering and ten counts of theft of property.  He is currently being held in the Baxter County Detention Center in lieu of $200,000 bond.  Laws is scheduled to appear in circuit court January 20th.

The sheriff's office does not anticipate any additional arrests, however they say additional charges against Laws could be filed later.
