Drug Motive?

POCAHONTAS, Ark.  --A relative of a family killed five years ago says he believes the husband got involved in drugs before the slayings.

Randolph County authorities are holding a father and son in the deaths of the Elliott family, which they also say is drug related. A second son faces related charges. Sheriff Brent Earley says 48-year-old Billy Dale Green and a son, 27-year-old Charles Wayne Green, are being held for capital murder and kidnapping and held without bond. Another son, 26-year-old Jason Edward Green, is being held on two counts of hindering apprehension.

His bond was set at 250-thousand dollars. Formal charges have NOT been filed. Billy Dale Green says his arrest is the result of a corrupt city government and he is being -- quote -- ``illegally railroaded.''

Bill Easton, brother of Lisa Elliott, says he thinks the family was killed because her husband Carl Allen Elliott was involved in illegal drugs.

Twenty-six-year-old Lisa Elliott and her six-year-old son Gregory were found beaten to death in Dalton on July 30th, 1998. Allen Elliott was found dead in the Eleven Point River two days later. The remains of eight-year-old Felicia Elliott were found two years later.
