ASU Bowling seeded 6th after second day of Mid-Winter Classic

CABOT, Ark. (1/15/11) — The sixth-ranked Arkansas State women's
bowling team (32-14) fell to 6-4 for the tournament with a 2-3 record
Saturday at the Mid-Winter Classic at All Fam Bowling in Cabot, Ark.

ASU opened the day with a 972-912 loss to Alabama A&M, but the Red
Wolves recovered to top Prairie View A&M 881-846.  A-State suffered
its second loss of the day to Vanderbilt 961-910 but handed Central
Missouri its first and only loss of the tournament so far 1035-901 in
match four, knocking the Jennies out of the top spot in the field.
The Red Wolves fell to Texas Southern 962-942 to close the day.

"It was a really rough day for us," said ASU head coach Justin
Kostick.  "We tried to make the comeback against Texas Southern, but
they were able to pull away with the win. All we can do tomorrow is
come out and try to finish as high as we can."

Arkansas State will be seeded sixth going into the final bracket
Sunday.  Action will begin at 8:00 a.m.
