Winter Weather Advisory issued for Thursday

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Another round of winter weather is expected Thursday across the area.  The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of northern Arkansas and southern Missouri from 9am to 6pm Thursday.  A Winter Weather Warning has been issued for northwest Arkansas and southern Missouri for the same time period.

A wintry mix of precipitation will start in during the overnight hours and change over to snow by Noon creating hazardous driving conditions in northwest Arkansas.

That snow will move east falling in northeast Arkansas by mid-morning.  Areas in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas could see as much as 4 inches of snow around the Arkansas - Missouri border.  Amounts will taper off to a dusting around the Interstate 40 corridor.

The winter storm will leave behind bitterly cold temperatures for Friday and the weekend.  The high Friday will struggle to make it out of the mid-20's.

Take extra precaution with your home and vehicle.  Check on family, friends, and pets during the cold weather.
