LINCOLN, Neb. (1/21/11) – The sixth-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team (41-15) posted a 3-1 record on day two of the Big Red Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. to land fifth in the total pinfall standings.
The Red Wolves opened the day with back-to-back wins over Valparaiso (981-903) and Elmhurst (938-926). ASU suffered its only loss of the tournament so far to Central Missouri 1064-883, but A-State bounced back to defeat top-ranked Maryland-Eastern Shore 1087-1042 to close the day.
"All in all we had a pretty good day," said ASU head coach Justin Kostick. "Things went well today, especially in getting that quality win over UMES. I hope we can come out and get three more wins tomorrow."
Competition will wrap up at the Big Red Invitational Saturday afternoon.
