Region 8 residents spare some money for a good cause

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Jonesboro Bowling Center was packed Tuesday evening as two local businesses joined forces to grant two wishes.

Ritter Communications and Optus, Incorporated sponsored "Bowling for Wishes" to benefit Make-A-Wish.

36 bowling teams hit the lanes to raise money to grant the wishes of two children right here in Region 8.

Shanna French with Ritter Communications says their first experience with Make-A-Wish was a hit.

"You know, they say you should plan to be successful, we never planned for it to be this wildly successful. We completely sold out. Jonesboro really responded when we sent out the request and it has felt so great to see how excited people are to be here tonight," French says.

In order to grant the two wishes, a goal of $10,000 was set.

At last check, that goal was greatly surpassed with over $12,500 earned.
