JONESBORO, Ark.  --A Jonesboro man accused of killing his former girlfriend will be tried in October instead of later this month.

The capital murder case against Brandon Dent was scheduled for trial August 18th, but has been delayed. Dent is accused of killing 24-year-old Leann Cowan.

Dent pleaded innocent in April. That same day, a judge ordered a psychological evaluation of Dent to determine if he is competent to stand trial.

The evaluation has been completed, but has been sealed at the request of Dent's lawyer.
