Woman arrested after allegedly shooting car

CARUTHERSIVLLE, MO (KAIT) – Caruthersville Police have arrested a woman after she allegedly opened fire on a man's car.

Police said they pulled over a car on 8th and Ward Streets for careless driving, and found a visibly upset man in the driver's seat.  He told officers his car was shot at while he was parked on 1706 Chaffin Street, and told them who had opened fire on him said police.

Investigators later arrested a 45-year-old black woman from Caruthersville in connection with the crime for first degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, discharging a weapon at a vehicle, leaving the scene of a shooting, and first degree property damage.

She is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail with a $150,00 bond. Her name is not yet released pending the filing of formal charges.
