FAYETTEVILLE (NWAOnline.com) - Arkansas football will begin spring practices on March 15 and play its annual Red-White game April 16, Razorbacks coach Bobby Petrino said Friday.
The start date is earlier than in years past for Petrino, who has waited to begin spring practice after the university's spring break the last two seasons. Because of that start date, the spring game has been played later in April, which Petrino said last season complicated semester final examinations because of their proximity in time.
The UA's spring break is scheduled for March 21-25 this year.
The April 16 game will be one of several notable sporting events in the state that day. The Arkansas Derby will be held that day at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, while the Razorbacks baseball team will host a game against Mississippi State at Baum Stadium.
