NEA Food Bank receives a past due Christmas gift

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Christmas is long past, but the NEA Food Bank received a much needed present Friday.

Wendeth Alfons of Jonesboro won Sunbelt's 12 days of Christmas holiday giveaway.

The prize... $1,800 worth of Sunbelt products, like granola bars. Six thousand granola bars to be exact.

Which will go a long way to feeding more than 5,100 people the food bank serves each week.

"We are so excited. We can use those granola bars for our back pack program, senior program. So this is a wonderful way for use to use this donation," Vicki Pillow with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas says.

The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas serves twelve counties and 5,100 people at risk of hunger each week.
