BATESVILLE, Ark. (2-2-11) - The blizzard that affected much of the United States this week has had an impact on the Lyon College sports schedule.
Due to travel conditions in Northeast Oklahoma, Friday's Lyon 2011 baseball opener against Oklahoma Wesleyan has been cancelled.
However, depending on the travel conditions on Friday for Oklahoma, the Scots and OKWU will take part in a double-header in Batesville on Saturday. First pitch for the contest is set for 11 a.m.
In 2010, head coach Tony Roepcke's first season, the Scots finished with a 30-20 record. Roepcke replaced former long time head coach Kirk Kelley, who left Lyon to take over the program at Oklahoma Wesleyan, making his first trip to Batesville in an Eagle uniform. Kelley will be inducted into the Lyon Athletic Hall of Fame in March.
The Scots have several home dates before hitting the road for the first time in 2011 on Feb. 15 at Williams Baptist College.
