PINE BLUFF, Ark.  --A former policeman finds himself on the wrong side of the law in a sexual assault case involving a juvenile.

Former Pine Bluff officer Robert Bergstrom was charged with two counts of sexual assault yesterday. The six-year veteran was arrested and fired over the weekend.

Prosecutor Stevan B. Dalrymple says Bergstrom was in the Jefferson County Detention Center on a 10-thousand dollar bond yesterday. Bergstrom is scheduled to be arraigned September eighth. Police Lieutenant Marx Mitchell says Bergstrom was placed on administrative leave Friday night after the complaint was filed against him.

Mitchell says Bergstrom was arrested and fired Saturday and has 10 days to appeal his termination.
