LITTLE ROCK, Ark.  --Pulaski County Prosecutor Larry Jegley says Mary Lee Orsini admitted to killing her husband in 1981 from prison about three weeks ago.

Orsini died Monday at the age of 55 while serving a life sentence for the murder of her former lawyer's wife, Alice McArthur. Jegley says investigators went to see Orsini on July 17th after they heard that she wanted to speak with them. Jegley says Orsini admitted to shooting her husband to death, something she had denied for 22 years.

She also admitted being involved in planting the car bomb that injured Alice McArthur about two weeks before her death.

A transcript of the interview will be made public as soon as possible and after Orsini's family has been notified. Orsini was found guilty of killing her husband, but the conviction was later overturned by the Arkansas Supreme Court.
