BATESVILLE, AR (Lyon) — Yet another cancellation and addition has been made to the Lyon College baseball schedule following this week's winter storm.
Due to slow melting from nearly five inches of snow on Wednesday, Scots' head coach Tony Roepcke has been forced to cancel Saturday's doubleheader against Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College (Okla.). The two teams will however face each other on Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at noon.
On Monday, the Scots (2-0) will see a familiar face in the visiting dugout, as they are set to take on Oklahoma Wesleyan in a two game set beginning at noon.
Long time Scots' skipper Kirk Kelley coaches the Eagles from Bartlesville, Okla. Kelley will be inducted into the Lyon Athletic Hall of Fame on March 26 during the Scots conference series against Mid-Continent. He is also the namesake to the Lyon baseball practice facility.
The two doubleheaders will be the first home games at Scots Field this season. The team will travel to Williams Baptist on Tuesday for a game that is currently scheduled to be nine innings.
