AR seniors get info on "heart flutter"

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-  Seniors gathered to learn more on what some people call a "heart flutter" or correctly termed arterial fibrillation which affects more than two million Americans.

Thursday afternoon at the Center on Aging attendees learned the physical make-up, functions, and what can cause problems in the heart as well as treatments.

Arterial fibrillation, according to medical officials, can be treated successfully with medication and some people live for years without any symptoms.

The event was presented by Deborah Levins, RN, BSN who says heart problems can reach across to all ages but arterial fibrillation can worsen over the age of 55.
