Polar Bear Plunge benefits American Cancer Society

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Saturday morning kids took a "Polar Bear Plunge" for the American Cancer Society. Students from the Bay STAND club, the Bay High School Student Council, and others took an icy dip in the lake at Craighead Forest Park for the school's first annual Polar Bear Plunge. And students raised quite a splash, collecting over a thousand dollars all to benefit the American Cancer Society.

"I just feel really good. The kids have worked hard. They've taken the pledges. They're here, and they're ready to get in the cold water, and it's for a good cause," says Bay Elementary School Counselor Phyllis Curtis.

Students hope to continue the fundraiser, and raise even money next year.
