Tuesday's on Nightbeat: Crimestoppers
Craig Rickert Reports

CrimeStoppers: August 19, 2003

On Monday morning, August 11, 27-year-old Shiray Davis was found shot to death in his Jonesboro residence.

At this point, officially, there are no suspects in this case. But Jonesboro police detectives believe someone knows who killed Davis and why. Now, CrimeStoppers has gotten involved to try to help the case.

Police ask that if you have any knowledge that may help police, call CrimeStoppers at 935-STOP. Your identity will be kept secret, you will not be identified, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you will receive a cash reward.

We have two arrests to report this week. The first one was easy. Last week, we showed three women doing their shopping at Wal-Mart with a stolen debit card. After they heard they were on CrimeStoppers, they wisely turned themselves in to Jonesboro police.

Another success to mention is Michael A. Smith. His 12 warrants earned him a starring role on Warrant Watch last week. Thanks to a CrimeStoppers tip, he has been arrested.

Wanted this week on Warrant Watch:

Alfonzo Washington is wanted for:

  • Seven Failure to Appear warrants.
  • One warrant comes with a $4,200 cash bond for his third DWI.

Randall Denney is wanted for:

  • Nine contempt of court warrants for revocation of probation.
  • Five non-payment of fines warrants.
  • Four warrants for writing hot checks.

If you know where police can locate Alfonzo Washington, or Randall Denney, call CrimeStoppers at 935-STOP, or toll free at 888-566-STOP.
