SAN ANTONIO, Tex. --An October 17th groundbreaking ceremony is planned for an 800 (M) million-dollar Toyota assembly plant south of San Antonio.
The invitation-only ceremony will take place during the automaker's annual North American supplier conference. That's scheduled for October 14th through 16th at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. Arkansas officials tried to land the plant, but their efforts came up short.
The state touted a site in east Arkansas near Marion. The San Antonio plant will produce 150-thousand Tundra pickup trucks a year and employ two-thousand workers.
It'll be the first to produce the next generation of Tundras.
