Blytheville Police arrest man wanted for murder

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Blytheville Police have arrested a man they shot another man in March.

According to the Blytheville Police Department, Devontae Marquez Rivers was arrested late Friday afternoon on Elm Street in Blytheville. He was wanted in the shooting death of Dorian Long.

Police say on March 2 they were called to the area of Beale and Alabama Streets after someone found a body lying in a small field. Detectives later identified the body as Long's and that he died of a gunshot wound.

During the course of the investigation, police found multiple suspects and got warrants for Rivers and 2 females. The females were located in the Dunklin County Jail on unrelated charges.

Blytheville Police issued a warrant and BOLO for Rivers Friday morning.
