Arkansas Teacher of the Year visits Region 8 school

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Westside School was visited by the Arkansas Teacher of the Year Thursday afternoon.

Vandy Nash is the 2010-2011 Teacher of the Year in Arkansas and as part of her duties she travels around all over the state to different schools giving and receiving new ideas on education.

Nash says the position she holds is meant to give a voice to teachers as well as celebrate the success of teachers and students around the state.

During her visit to Westside, Nash said the school's "innovative strategies" were "top notch" and even said that she would be very happy if her own children went to Westside.

Vandy Nash is teacher from a school district in North Little Rock.
