CONWAY, Ark. --A man who Faulkner County prosecutors say beat his six-week-old daughter to death has drawn a 40-year prison sentence.
Jason Pelham entered a no-contest plea to a first-degree murder charge. The 25-year-old Pelham was sentenced yesterday, a day after he entered his plea.
He was to have gone to trial yesterday. Police say that the baby's mother found infant Juliet bruised and not breathing on November 15th, 2001.
Pelham's attorney, Frank Shaw, has said his client suffers from impulse control disorder. The judge accepted the no-contest plea and found Pelham guilty of first-degree murder.
