Two men arrested after domestic assault complaint

CARUTHERSVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Caruthersville Police arrested a man while investigating a domestic assault on 301 East Main St in Caruthersville.

According to investigating officers, 25-year-old suspect Chaddric Benson became angry with police and was restrained with handcuffs while officers spoke with the victim who had some clear injuries.

While officers took Benson from the residence, another man jumped in causing another disturbance. James Wiley, 36, of Caruthersville was also arrested.

Benson was charged with willfully opposing a police officer while in proper discharge of duties, domestic assault, and resisting arrest. Wiley was charged with willfully opposing a police officer while in proper discharge of duties.

Benson was taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center to be held in lieu of $1,588.50 cash only bond. Wiley was taken to the Caruthersville Police Department to be processed and later released on Caruthersville Municipal Summons for March 31 at 6 p.m.
