Kiwanis club hosts "Pop Stricklin Pancake Day"

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - People filled up on pancakes Saturday morning at the 71st Annual Kiwanis "Pop Stricklin Pancake Day".

People poured into the NEA District Fairgrounds ready to get stacked with pancakes! And Cooks had the griddles full, pouring on the pancake batter and flipping out plate-after-plate of pancakes. All the money from the event will help provide activities for children in Region 8. Each year the Kiwanis Club provides three ASU scholarships, and gives to local non-charitable organizations.

"It just gives us an opportunity to do more for the community and the children that live in the Northeast Arkansas area. It gives us an opportunity to get away from our regular business day and get involved in something we love to do," says Kiwanis Club Treasurer Bill Dunnam.

Dunnam says the club is grateful for the community support. Nearly 15-hundred people came through the doors last year and he hopes to surpass that number this year.
