Science Fair offers students hands on experience

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Students from all over Region 8 got hands on experience in the field of science at the 55th annual Science Fair at Arkansas State University Friday.

The event was held in the Student Union Auditorium and students from around 15 schools entered projects into the fair this year. They could enter as an individual or as a team and the ages ranged from grades six through twelve.

The event offered students a chance to get hands on experience as well as answer questions scientifically they want to know the answer to. Emily Hubbard, an eighth grader at Nettleton, said her project was about if people stop, slow down, or just keep going at a stop sign, and if gender plays a role in whether they do.

Emily hoped that her science fair entry would allow to answer that question and she discovered that most people do stop at stop signs and that men have more violations than women.
