Father: Arkansas soldier loved music, hunting

MOUNTAIN PINE, Ark. (AP) - The father of a Mountain Pine soldier killed in Afghanistan says his son was a dedicated military man who loved music and liked to hunt and ride horses.

Army officials said 20-year-old Cpl. Loren Miles Buffalo was killed Wednesday when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was on patrol in Kandahar Province. He was assigned to the
101st Airborne Division based in Fort Campbell, Ky.

Cecil Buffalo told the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record that his son comes from a family with a military service tradition. Loren's father and his uncle served in the Army, and his great-grandfather
was a B-17 bomber pilot in World War II.

Loren Buffalo is survived by his father and his mother, Anjanette Buffalo, of West Bend, Wis.

Cecil Buffalo says a funeral is being arranged.
