Early morning fire damages Poplar Bluff home March 17, 2011 at 3:41 PM CDT - Updated June 23 at 3:32 PM POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - Firefighters in Poplar Bluff got the early morning call to a house fire on East Lexington Thursday. They found the home at 109 E. Lexington on fire. According to the fire department, the home was unoccupied and empty at the time of the fire. there also was not power run to the home. Investigators say the fire appears to have started in the back of the small 1 story home. Most of the fire damage was also contained to the rear of the structure. This home had earlier been declared a nuisance. It had a sign on the outside wall claiming it to be unsanitary and unsafe. Fire investigators will be back on scene after daybreak to go over the damage and compare what's there now to previous pictures taken when the home was deemed a nuisance. Copyright KFVS 2011.
