BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A registered sex offender is behind bars again for failing to comply with sex offender registration act.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, Michael Paul Howard was arrested for a second time in 3 months for failing to properly register as a sex offender.

Police say Howard was arrested on March 14 in Clarkridge for domestic battery on his girlfriend. During the interview process it was determined that Howard was living in Clarkridge the past 2 months, which is not the address he was registered.

In February, Howard was arrested after police found out that Howard had moved from Ozark County, Missouri to Baxter County.

A judge set Howard's bond at $15,000.
