UN authorizes air strikes in Libya

WASHINGTON D.C. (KAIT) - Early Friday morning the United Nations Security Council approved a resolution authorizing international forces to use "all necessary measures" to protect civilians in the country.

The resolution creates a no-fly zone over Libya but does not allow the use of ground forces at this time.  This after government forces have retaken ground lost to the rebels over the past several weeks.
