Man found unresponsive in road; police investigating

WHITE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Deputies in White County are investigating a man found lying on the side of the road unresponsive.

According to the White County Sheriff's Department, around 9:30 Thursday night Benjamin Clutter was found lying on the side of Morrow Church Road unresponsive.

During the course of the investigation, witnesses told deputies that Clutter was involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend, Amanda Swain. Police say Swain was trying to drive away from Clutter but he was able to jump onto the back of the car. Sometime during the incident, Clutter fell off causing a head injury.

Police say it's unknown how long Clutter was lying in the road when police found him. He was transported to the White County Medical Center and later transferred to the University Medical Center, his condition is not known at this time.

The White County Sheriff's Department is investigating to see if any charges will be filed.
