Phone scam making the rounds in Region 8

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) – If you get a phone call from someone telling you there's a problem with your bank account, Paragould police say you should hang up the phone.

According to Lieutenant Rick Baldridge, a number of people have received calls and text messages saying there is a problem with their bank card.  Victims are then told to call 999 to take care of the problem.

But, Lt. Baldridge says you should not call that number.  It's a scam to get your personal information.

If you have a question about your bank account, he says you should call your bank.

He says customers of Unico, Focus and First National banks have received the calls.
