Craighead Forest Park Blues Festival

Sunday--September 7, 2003

Musicians have been meeting at Craighead Forest park for thirteen years and they are  rolling on the river again this September.

Nearly twenty acts will play at the park every Sunday throughout September.  Featured groups say they play a variety of music for any enthusiast.

Ruth Lindsey visited the park with her family she says the festival has given her and her husband the opportunity to expose their children to another world of music.

"The kids have never heard this music they're more into pop rock and Wayne wanted them to experience something different."

She says this is a great experience for younger kids because they can now experience what schools don't have time to teach.

"Music focuses on it for a hint and then they move on and go on to something else and it's nice for them to go somewhere where they can hear it and know what it's all about."
