FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT)- A man was arrested and charged over the weekend, after police say he told them he shot his brother.

Sunday evening the Forrest City Police Department received a call about a shooting at an apartment at 409 North Washington.  Police say when they arrived on scene Marcus Black, 22, who was the reported caller was standing on the front porch of the apartment.  Officers say that Marcus Black told them that he had shot his brother.  Police took Black into custody and recovered a handgun from him.

When police went into the apartment, they say they found 19 year-old Kendrix Black suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.  Kendrix Black was taken to the Forrest City Medical Center and then later airlifted to the MED in Memphis in critical condition.

Marcus Black is charged with battery in the first degree and is scheduled for arraignment Thursday, March 31 in St. Francis District Court.
