Traffic stop leads to major drug bust

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) – A traffic stop in St. Francis County nets $300,000 worth of drugs.

According to the St. Francis County Sheriff's Office, on Tuesday, March 29, Deputies Heath Reynolds and Eugene Watlington discovered more than 1.43 pounds of "crystal ice" meth in a Dodge Caravan on Interstate 40.

The vehicle was westbound when Deputy Reynolds noticed the windshield was cracked.  During the traffic stop the deputy said the suspects were acting suspiciously.  A subsequent search of their vehicle turned up a bag with "crystal ice" meth worth approximately $300,000.

The deputies arrested the driver Jesus Flores of Pasadena, Texas, and Samuel Perez also of Pasadena, Texas, were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.  They're being held in the St. Francis County Jail.
