CHARLESTON, Mo. -- The state prison in the southeast Missouri town of Charleston has a new chief.

The Missouri Department of Corrections says Charles Dwyer has been tapped to be superintendent of the Southeast Correctional Center, which opened in September 2001.

Dwyer is a 15-year veteran of state corrections.  Since 1998, he was associate superintendent at the Potosi Correctional Center, home to Missouri's death row.
