AUSTIN, TX (KAIT) - There's a phrase that says "Everything's bigger in Texas", now maybe you can change that to "Everything's faster in Texas."
The state is currently considering a bill that would raise the speed limit to 85 miles per hour on the highway.
Some opponents have safety concerns and others are worried about the higher speeds leading to higher gas prices.
The measure, which is part of a larger transportation bill, must pass engineering testing and other studies before the Texas Department of Transportation authorizes it.
