FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.  --A new report by the Arkansas Crime Information Center says cities in northwest Arkansas are among the safest in the state.

Officials say the region's thriving economy and low unemployment rates have helped make its cities among the safest in the state.

Rogers, Bentonville, Springdale and Fayetteville are the state's second, third, fourth and fifth safest cities with more than 20-thousand residents.

The Number One safe city is Paragould, in northeast Arkansas. Paragould has a crime rate of 15 incidents per one-thousand people.
